The 3.0L R6 biturbo engine (S58) in BMW M models (G87, G80, G81, G82) uses an indirect intercooler circuit (low-temperature circuit). The charge air is cooled via a separate cooling water circuit. Lowering the cooling water temperature is therefore the critical factor in maintaining engine performance, especially during aggressive driving or performance enhancements.
