The development of our new EGO-X exhaust system for the Audi RS5 (FU5) plug-in hybrid has reached the next crucial milestone:

The system has successfully passed the ECE noise measurement and is now available for pre-order.

The complete system is developed, tested and manufactured as usual in our factory in Lübeck.

Dual flow in 76 mm – uncompromising full flow

The double-flush 76 mm construction was consistently developed for maximum exhaust gas throughput and low exhaust gas back pressure and tested on the MAHA MSR 500.

When the exhaust flaps are open, a continuous 76 mm straight pipe is available on both exhaust lines. The exhaust gases are passed directly through the system without being diverted through additional silencers.

When the flaps are closed, the exhaust gases are directed through a silencer on each side. This creates a much more restrained sound for everyday driving.

The direct comparison to the standard exhaust system shows the advantage over the speed range:

• up to +35 Nm & +20 hp over the entire speed range

• Peak: +8.9 hp and +24.1 Nm

The result: less exhaust gas back pressure, better response and measurably more performance.

The peak values of 656.1 hp / 818.4 Nm with EGO-X compared to 647.2 hp / 794.3 Nm series are proven by the test bench measurements (see diagram).

The system uses the original exhaust valve actuators of the vehicle. The control is thus still carried out via the standard vehicle logic and the existing driving modes.

Designed for the new Audi RS5

The EGO-X was developed specifically for the new Audi RS5 and its 2.9-litre V6 biturbo plug-in hybrid.

Numerous test runs on the MAHA MSR 500 as well as performance and exhaust gas back pressure measurements were carried out in order to optimally match the pipe cross-section, exhaust gas guidance and the 76 mm double-flux construction to the RS5.

Our development team did not simply adapt an existing system, but developed a completely new system for the FU5 platform.

• ECE approval

The noise measurement required for ECE homologation has been successfully passed, an ECE approval is supplied.

The system can therefore be installed legally in Germany without registration in the vehicle documents.

With your pre-order, you secure a system from the first available production series.

Production and preparation are already underway. The shipment will take place as soon as we have produced the first batch and the ECE version can be officially delivered.

The original flap actuators of the vehicle are taken over and are not part of the scope of delivery.

EGO-X – two sound characters, one system

When the flaps are open, the system offers an uncompromising, two-channel 76 mm straight exhaust path.

Thus, the new EGO-X exhaust system combines maximum flow and an emotional sound with the everyday suitability of the standard valve control.

When the flaps are closed, the exhaust gases from both cylinder banks are directed through the specially developed pipe guidance via the two silencers arranged on the driver’s side.

In this way, the entire exhaust system is effectively dampened and a pleasantly restrained sound image for everyday use is achieved.
