The development of our new EGO-X exhaust system for the Audi S5 B10 TFSI Mild-Hybrid quattro has reached the next crucial milestone:

The system has successfully passed the ECE noise measurement and is now available for pre-order.

The complete system is developed, tested and manufactured as usual in our factory in Lübeck.

From 2x 63 mm to 89 mm – flow-optimized exhaust gas management

The EGO-X was specially developed for the new Audi S5 B10 with 3.0-litre TFSI mild hybrid, 270 kW / 367 hp and relies on a completely newly designed pipe routing.

Initially, the system takes over the exhaust gas flow in a double flow with 2x 63 mm. The two exhaust streams are then combined in a large-sized 89 mm (3.5 in) pipe guide.

A decisive difference to the standard exhaust system: The standard pre-muffler is completely omitted in the EGO-X. As a result, the exhaust gas management can be consistently designed for a high throughput and the lowest possible exhaust gas back pressure.

In the rear area, the system leads to the exhaust flaps with 76 mm. The exhaust flow is then distributed to a total of four 63 mm tailpipes.

Designed for the Audi S5 B10 TFSI mild-hybrid quattro

The EGO-X was specially developed for the Audi S5 B10 TFSI Mild-Hybrid quattro with 2,995 cm³ displacement and 270 kW / 367 hp.

Instead of simply adapting an existing exhaust system to the new vehicle generation, the pipe routing was tailored to the technical characteristics of the S5 B10 and the DWVA engine.

Starting from the two 63 mm exhaust lines, the exhaust gases are combined in a large-sized 89 mm main pipe. The standard pre-muffler is completely eliminated. In the rear area, the exhaust pipes are extended over 76 mm to the exhaust flaps and subsequently divided into four 63 mm tailpipes.

The noise measurement required for ECE homologation has been successfully passed. A corresponding ECE approval is supplied.

The EGO-X exhaust system can therefore be installed in Germany without additional registration in the vehicle documents and operated on public roads, provided that the vehicle corresponds to the approved area of use.

EGO-X – two sound characters, one system

The EGO-X for the Audi S5 B10 already relies on a consistently flow-optimized exhaust gas management immediately after the OPF. The standard pre-muffler is completely eliminated, while the two 63 mm exhaust lines are combined into a large-sized 89 mm main pipe.

From there, the system leads over 76 mm to the exhaust flaps and then distributes the exhaust gas flow to four 63 mm tailpipes.

When the flaps are open, the sound is much more present and emotional. When the flaps are closed, the exhaust gas flow is channeled through the integrated sound damping and the noise level for everyday driving is significantly reduced.

The new EGO-X combines high exhaust gas throughput, a completely newly developed pipe routing and the elimination of the standard pre-muffler with the everyday suitability of the original Audi damper control.
